Wild weather week!

And has it been a wild one! On wednesday night we had the strongest winds that I have ever seen besides in tornadoes(which I have been through a couple of those). We have tree limbs down all over the yard. We had gusts up to 60 mphs and then our power went out at 8 p.m. and didn't come back on until 3 in the morning.
Then yesterday morning we woke up to heavy sleet and freezing rain coming down. We live about 20 miles west of Nashville and it never made it to Nashville. The county we live in schools were shut down and driving was treacherous because of ice accumalation. It melt off by mid day and got up to 40 last night. Then temps dived down again this morning at day break and started snowing. Just some really wierd weather this winter.
So yesterday morning I stayed home with a little touch of a stomach virus and I took some nice pics of my little birdies in the snow.
Can you see Mister Squirrel behind the cardinal? He was hungry and cold too!

I sure love the bright red cardinals against the white snowy icy ground. There are alot of cardinals here in the winter. The bird feeder is right outside my Art room window and I took the pictures through the windows.
Also, last week-end I worked on some Valentine greeting cards and still working on some now. But these are the ones that I did last week-end.

I hope every one will have a great week-end. Stay warm!

Beautiful birds. We get cardinals only occasionally.

Oh..I FOUND the missing ATC's so I'll get them in the mail tomorrow. The lost is found.

Those cardinals sure stand out against the rest of the gray day! They're so beautiful. We get winds like that (60+MPH) here quite frequently and I hate it. They just howl!!

I hope you have a warm, dry, very creative weekend.

Yikes! I'm glad you and your house are OK with all those broken branches. Lovely photos -- those cardinals are smashing, aren't they? So pretty against the gray.

Keep warm and toasty. Sending you good weather wishes!

Ahhh, I sure do miss cardinals. They don't have them out here in California, but I was raised in the Midwest. Chickadees and nuthatches too. We have those out here, but not so many.
