Back to Blogging

Hi my Blogger Buds!!! Yes I am still around. I haven't posted in a while as life has been quite busy for me lately. I am now officially working my new job. Much better than working 2 jobs, believe me! I really Love my new position and I stay very busy so the day goes fast. Bad part is that when I get home the last thing that I want to do is get on the computer. I am on it from 7 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. at work. So,,,when I get home I just want to go hang in the gardens or play in my art room. I just need the chill time.
The pic above is one of many ATCs that I have been working on lately. Can you tell I am in the
"Fall" mood? It was feeling fallish here for a while but the past week and espiecally today has been very Indian Summerish. Todays high was suppose to break a record by getting up to 94 and it sure felt like it outside. I just stayed inside and worked in the art room in the cool air conditioning. Cooler weather is headed back this way again by the end of next week,,YAY!!!
Here are a few more of my Fall ATCS.

I have also worked on 2 tip in for a swap that I am doing in Swap-bot. They are made with a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock that is folded in half. So each picture will actually be 2 pages. The theme for the tip in is Vintage Men.

These were really fun to make too! And I actually got brave and used my sewing machine on the edges. I have also been working on several pieces of jewelry lately too. I will try to post pictures of some of them this week. Its suppose to rain by tuesday so my outside days will be fewer this week.
I hope every one is doing well. I am off to check on some of my friends blogs now. Hope you have had a wonderful week-end!

Tuesday morning art!

Its another early morning for me. Sleep has not been in my favor lately. The stress of working 2 jobs and getting paid for the lowest paying job has been interupting my sweet slumber. But I know it will change soon.
The ATCs above were made for a swap called "Man's bestfriend". I actually really like these and think they turned out pretty darn good. I am usually not my best critic but on these I am happy with them.
Fall weather has finally arrived here in the south. After several nice, rainy days, cooler weather made its appearance yesterday around noon. The first thing that I did when I got home was open the windows. There is just something exquisite about the first time you get to open your windows after months of running your AC in the summer or your Heat in the winter.
This summer was a miserable one here. August broke the record books for sweltering heat and dry conditions. Our leaves will not be pretty this Autumn as most of the trees suffered with no rain and unbearable heat. But I am still so glad to have the joy of the first touch of Fall.
I have been making several Fall ATCs and Halloween ATCs! That really gets me in the mood too.
I hope every one else is starting to feel their first taste of Fall. I also hope every one has a wonderful week ahead!

Butterfly Shadow Box

Well yes, I am finally posting again. I sure didn't get around to it last week. Work was long and hard last week, enough said. So here are the pics of the beautiful butterfly box that my Sweet Mom made and I was lucky enough to recieve in the swap.

The pictures just don't do it justice. I wanted to take pictures of it outside, but its been a wonderful, rainy week-end, so I had to take them inside. She worked so hard on it and I am just so proud of it. It sits on proud display on one of my art shelves in the living room. Here are some pictures of my art shelves.

Its been such a wonderful week-end. I really didn't do alot. I went and got my nails done yesterday and had my eyebrows waxed. Just a little spoiling of ones self, I felt I deserved it after the long, hard work week. Today I worked on some ATCs for some trades. It rained most of the day and boy, did we sure need it. My Football team, the Titans won, so you know I was a happy camper. Hubby worked on some inside projects and we just had a really nice Sunday.
He went outside earlier and came in and said "Come outside and look at all the Wild Turkeys in the yard next door". We have alot of them around here. I guess they were out for a stroll in the rain. I ran in and got the camera and managed to get a shot of one.

He looks a little worried, maybe because Thanksgiving is just around the corner? They really are not very good to eat, and he looks a tad bit on the skinny side, lol.
I hope every one has had a great week-end. I miss you all and will try to post more next week. I am on the computer all day at work and I don't really want to get on mine when I get home.
I am getting up every morning and do my treadmill for a couple of miles as I feel like I need some excercise. That helps alot!
Now I am off to visit your blogs!!!

Flutterflys and Long Week-end

I just had to post something to night to say I hope everyone had a great Holiday Week-end. I really enjoyed it, nice and relaxing. Yes, I did go to the doc on Wed. and I did have quite a UTI. I got on a round of some Antibiotics and feel 100% better.
Saturday morning I did some household chores and then went outside to play in my flowers. Its been so horribly hot here that they have been quite neglected. It was in the upper 80s but a very nice breeze blowing and I so enjoyed being out there and not dying from the heat.
The butterflys are every where right now. I think they were really glad to get some nectar that wasn't at the boiling point, lol.
So I had to chase a few down and take some pics of them. I just love to see them in the pictures while they are sipping away on the sweet nectar. I think one day I will make a butterfly scapbook, just as soon as I finish my garden scrapbook and my NYC scrapbook, hopefully I will still be able to see at that ripe old age,,lol.
So yesterday I went and picked up Mom and we went to Michaels with our 50% off coupons, of course. I only bought a little mini paper cutter and a few other items. Mom was actually good too and didn't spend alot.
Afterwards we came back to my house and stayed up most of the night working on our friend Jane's birthday prez. And this morning we made some really neat background papers.
Mom and I were in a shadowbox swap in one of our groups. Well Mom got my name and so I got the box she made. It is so beautiful. Guess what it is? A butterfly shadowbox. She worked so hard on it and I will treasure it forever and ever. Our friend Jane was the hostess of the swap and was kind enough to give Mom my name as she knows anything Mom makes will always mean the world to me. So,,,tomorrow I will take a picture of it when I get home from work and post it on my blog. I am a quite tired tonight so I am going to go to bed and read a while and get ready for the short work week.
Again, I hope you all had fun,,much hugs to all!!! Good-night!
