Sunny Sunday and birds

It was so nice to have a little warmer day and the sun was feeling so wonderful,
temps up to the 50s. It was a great week-end and I know now why I Live for the week-ends!!!
Mom and I had a wonderfully, creative day on Saturday. We started out by making our "Birdcage Art". We both had purchased some very cool birdcages at our local thrift store a few weeks ago. So this is what we created with our Birdcages. The first one is mine. I have it hanging in my kitchen and it looks great with my Birdy Border.

I should have posted a close up of it. It has some little finches in it. One is sitting next to a nest and the other is on a branch looking over the nest. It makes it feel so "springy" in the kitchen.
The next pictures are of Mom's birdcage. She also hung hers in her kitchen.

We had so much fun making these sweet birdy cages. After we made these we made several Valentine cards and Birthday cards. February is birthday month for our family. My brother's is on Feb.3, my Mom's 2 sisters are Feb. 8th and 10th, mine is the 15th, and Mom's is on the 22nd.
Bad thing about Mom's birthday this years is that she is going to be in the hospital on her birthday.
She is going to have a major back operation on Feb. 18th. They will be cleaning out her lower spinal column of bone spurs that have been putting pressure on nerves in the column. She has Spinal stenosis, which is the narrowing of the spinal column. They will put a sleeve in the column in hopes to keep the spurs from growing back. She has been terrible pain the past 6 months and this is her only option to aleviate the pain. We pray that this will be the cure and that she will be up and about and ready to plant flowers this spring.
I hope everyone had a great week-end.

Middle of the week, hurry up friday!

Wednesday is a good day, it means friday is right around the corner. It means that on saturday and sunday mornings, you can sleep a little late and then wake up and do what you want to do.
I didn't post about my wonderful day on monday when I was off for MLK holiday yet but it was a great day!!!
Mom and I got to have a wonderful lunch with our dear friend Rosemary(Rosie). We live so close, but don't get to see each other as much as we would like too. Life gets in the way.
We had a great lunch at Applebys together and then headed right next door to Michaels! And yes, we spent a little bit and had some great laughs. The picture below is one that Rosie took of all of us right outside Michaels. I borrowed the pic from her blog.

Aren't we looking delirious from our shopping spree? It was a blast!!!
Before I left for our excursion, I took some pictures of my new Art room.

This is the wonderful morning sun that shines in through the front windows. I love to sit in here on the week-ends when the sun shines in and create a little art and watch the birds on the feeder.

And this is where I sit and all of my tools around me. The room is still a work in progress. I am using baskets to store my supplys and hid the plastic tubs in a closet. One day I will have cabinets on the wall and a nicer work area(like the kind you see in magazines, lol), but until then, this is where I create my masterpieces.

And this is a clean version of the room. Most of the time its a little bit messy. But I am enjoying the new art room and look forward to many wonderfuls of making art too my souls content.
I also got braved and took a picture of myself. And then I played around with it Paint Shop that night after the wonderful day I had. It is now my new Profile picture, in case you were wondering who that Chic was in my comments, lol.
This is the picture I used.

And this is a bigger version of the picture I made in PSP.
I love to play with Paint shop and Adobe and I never have the time here lately. I used filters and tubes to make this picture. I like this picture because you can't see all the wrinkles, lol. And it also shows that I am so looking forward to SPRING!!!!
Well its late and my bed is calling me to come rest my head and watch a little HGTV.
My thoughts are with all my friends and I hope everyone is having a great week. And again, "Hurry up Week-end!!!! "

COLD, COLD SUNDAY MORNING!!!

This was my thermometer on my deck this morning. And this was 8 a.m. with the sun hitting it. I think it actually got even colder than this. Brrrrrrr.
Yesterday was really cold too so I stayed inside and in my Art Room most of the day. I made several more ATCs and some pendants for necklaces. I really enjoy my new Art Room, its a lot more roomier and more efficient.
I feel a little bit better today. Still achy and chest congestion but not sick enough to lay in bed thank goodness. I would hate to waste my long week-end sick in bed.
This morning we had a sweet little family deer family in the woods behind our house. One of the deer was laying down the whole time and I think she might have been pregnant. I got my camera out and took some great zoom shots from the comfort of my warm house.

Aren't they so cute?

Well I better get busy and do a few more artsy things. I hope every one is having a wonderful week-end. Stay warm!!!

Saturdays- oh how I LOVE them!!!

Yes, I do live for the week-ends. Just wish they didn't go by so quickly. This week-end will be a little longer as I get Martin Luther King's birthday off on Monday. I do have a little bit of a bug/cold or something today. Not feeling the greatest but not feel completely terrible either.
I don't want to get out as its miserably cold outside today, so I will stay in and do some creating. I am also doctoring myself and trying to get rid of this crud so I can get together with my Girly, Miz Rosie. Haven't seen her since November and I need a Rosie fix. We will hook up for lunch on Monday if this crud has left me by then.
In the mean time, here are some ATCs I have made. Two are for a personal trade and the others are for Valentines swaps.
Hope everyone has a great week-end and stay warm and be creative,,I am!!!

Snowy night in Tennessee!!!

Yes we finally got our first snow fall of the year last night. It has flurried here and there this winter but nothing like we got last night. It start about 5 p.m. and snowed most of the night. This morning the temp has warmed up and its turned into a mist and melted off the roads just in time for the morning commute. Here are a few more pics of the pretty snow we had.

My snowy husband Daniel.
Snow dog Lady!

Mom and Dad on their snowy porch!
Steps to my deck with the snowy bell.
It sure was pretty while it lasted. I Love snow as it makes everything so nice and clean. More snow in the forecast for this week and next week but its very tricky here in the south. We might get snow or it could be rain.
Hope all is well with all my blogger buds!

Birdy border for the kitchen!!!

I finally recieved my Bird wallpaper border for my kitchen in on friday afternoon. Daniel and I managed to put it up yesterday afternoon. I absolutely LOVE it!!! It looks wonderful with the colors that I picked to paint the kitchen.

This is a close up of it without the trim on the bottom edge of it.
And here is my Master Carpenter and Mister Fix-it, putting the trim on the bottom of it. It just really made such a difference in the kitchen. I have quite a bit of it left over and I plan on making some very interesting Art pieces with the extra for the kitchen. I will post some more pictures of it this week and how great the kitchen has shaped up from the beginning.
So yesterday afternoon was Play-off time for our NFL Football team, the Tennessee Titans. We were facing San Diego Chargers in San Diego. We came out and played the first half very well but the second half was a different story, sad to say we lost. Oh well, theres always next year, right? Anyhoo,,,Daniel snapped a picture of me and my little Titan companion while we were watching the game.

Yes, these are one of my fave pair of jeans, lol. Lady also has her Titan's scarf on her neck. We do love our Titans even if they didn't win.
Kitty Carl is getting use to the new house too. She has quite got the nerve up to venture outside yet. Here is a picture of her peeking out the door to the deck.

After being below freezing most of last week, we warmed up to the 60s yesterday. Lady and I took a nice stroll around the block before the game yesterday. Our new neighborhood is very quiet and hardly any traffic. Our old house was on a busy road and too dangerous to walk on it. So we really enjoyed our walk in the new neighborhood. Today it is suppose to get up to 71 degrees. Our weather is so strange in the winter here in the south. By next week we could have snow, we did have a light dusting of it on New Years Day.
Speaking of New Years Day. Mom and I got to visit with a great friend of ours from Modesto,California. Denise is in one of our favorite ATC groups. She was in Nashville visiting her sister, Holly, for the holidays. They came out on New Years Day and had lunch with us and we had so much fun getting to know them. Denise is so sweet and very talented. She also plays the bagpipes but she didn't get to bring them with her to Tennessee. I hope to get to visit her in Cali one day and here her play them. These are some pictures of our visit with her.

Denise, Mom, and Holly!
Denise, Me, and Holly!
I Love to meet my friends from our group. I hope to meet alot of others one day too, and also some of my blogger buds.
Well its 5 a.m. and time for me to start gearing up to get ready for a new work week. UGH! It will be a busy one as we start our new semester tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to post more pictures of the house this week. Heres to a Monday!!!
