Changing

How about a basket full of pretty Hydrangeas ? These are the beauties that I picked from my bush this past week-end. I made 2 bouquets of them and gave one to Mom.
Well, I did find out on Monday that my position at the school I am at now has been cut. But I do have some options, hopefully. I can possibly stay where I am and work under a different job title but make the same pay that I make now. I would also get summers off again but that means I would make less money since I would be off 2 months without pay. That's kind of hard when you are use to making more money. Its a lot easier to go from less to more. The other option is stay in my same position and change to another school and still work 12 months. I have applied for that one too. Not sure if I will definitely get either one but I do have 25 years of seniority. Our school system is in a big transition right now. We have 5 schools who where under performing according to the "No Child Left Behind act" that our lovely ex-prez put in place. So there fore every one in all of those schools must re-apply for their positions. That's goes from custodians, teachers, clerical, up to the principals. A lot will not be rehired. Its a way of weeding out the not so good and keeping the good. But it sounds pretty cruel. So there are a lot of people out there trying to find jobs in the system again. But that's just the way it is. Enough of this.

Here are some pictures I took of my flowers and my summer time world at home where I am at peace.
This is a pretty moth that I found on our garage door last night.

Next is my hardy summer snapdragon. Its a beautiful dark wine color and full of blooms. The picture doesn't really do it justice as it was late evening and rain clouds were moving in.
And then we have a pic of my black eye Susan which is also full of blooms.

I Love the color of this Petunia.
This is the flower bed by my deck steps where are these babies call home.
Next is where the hubby and I sit and chill at night after a hard days work.
You have to have those bug torches lit at night to keep the lovely skeeters away.
And here is our outdoor room with Daddy and the Brat.

This what you would see if you were sitting on the deck with us.

And I have a wonderful collection of Buddhas and they really make me feel so Peaceful when I look at them.
And last but not least a view of the garden. Its getting quite full. I have some beans that have not sprouted up yet as I just planted them last week-end. I do have baby squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. I am already eating on the lettuce, broccoli, and white radishes. I am going to take close ups of it all this coming week-end.
And last, but not least, is my little Carlita Kitty who is looking for some bugs to play with by the flowerbed.
And that was a little tour of my world at the beginning of summer. I mowed yesterday afternoon and the time we got ready to go to bed we had a nice steady rain move in to water and refresh the flowers. I went back out on the deck to smell the freshness of the rain. So relaxing.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me that the right place for me to work at will fall in place for me. Its very unsettling right now when I am away from my haven in a world of unknowns that has become my work.
I hope every one is having a wonderful week.

Well Bethy, I'm happy you still have options. Sounds like some don't. I'm pushing for either. I'd like to have you in the summer but I don't like the sound of a pay cut either! Hang in there. I know it will all work out for you 'cause you "is just dat good." I am amazed at what you have done in this short amount of time!!! All the flowers and animals are lovely. Critters, you can keep. loveya! xoxo

Well, at least now you know where you stand and can plan what to do next. I'll send lots of good, positive thoughts your way.

Your flowers are beautiful, and I love the photos of the moth!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you about your positions, Bethie! I have the possibility of a job transfer to Hartselle's lab for the same shift that I'm on now. Send good thoughts up for me that it will work out. It would mean no loss of benefits, etc. I'm going to miss my friends here most of all, though.

Your place looks so lovely!

Hi Beth!
I sure hope everything works out for you regarding work. It's so stressful to not know!
And......I absolutely LOVE the tour of your garden and deck! I just want to come hang out there♥ Beautiful!
It's still early spring here (ND)so my flowers aren't in full bloom yet. I can hardly wait. I love summer!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind words! Have a nice weekend,
Darla

Much better news. Much. Fingers crossed and all that. Summer's off beats the whole year off -- indefinitely, so either job sounds good to me, though I can see why you'd prefer the 12-month version.

Your garden looks fab. Wish the ugly kitchen moths that torment me in my house were as pretty as your green one -- I wouldn't mind so much.

It is a changing world, and we are in it. I know you will be fine. This no child left behind stuff has hurt alot of teachers, and kids. I will keep you in my prayers. You have a wonderful colorful place to relax and love.
The pictures are beautiful.
