Halloween Party and fun week-end!!

This past week-end was so much fun for me. I got to get together with one of my oldest and dearest friend. Lisa and I have known each other for about 25 years. We both had our children around the same time. In fact our daughters are only 7 hours apart in age. Our sons are only a year apart in age. Lately my daughter and Lisa's daughter Lindsey have been hanging out together. My daughter Kalyn called me on saturday and told me that Lisa's sister was having a Halloween party that night. So I decided to go and see my girl Lisa!!! She looked so cute dressed up like a Cat. We had so much fun catching up with each other. I can't believe its been several years since we had been together. The picture below is one her sister took of us and our daughters. Lindsey and Kalyn have gotten really close now. And I just didn't realize how much I had missed Lisa. So we have decided that we are going to stay in touch and see each other alot more often.
Below is a picture of Lisa holding our baby Girls. We had only been out of the hospital about a week and were ready to get out and go shopping. Lindsey is on the left and Kalyn is on the right. Every where we went every one would ask us if they were twins. We had so much fun. I can't believe its now 21 years later. Time sure does fly.

A little Eye Candy for a Rainy day!

Yes it is raining here again today. Its been a very rainy week for us. We haven't had this much rain in months. I am glad we are getting some as we had such a horribly dry and hot summer.
I just wish I could send it to California to help put out the horrible fires there. My thoughts are with the people in Cali as I just can't imagine the misery of losing all of my valuables in a fire, my worse fear. I hope they get some relief from that inferno soon.
The ATCs above were for a swap that I did on swap-bot. It was called "Women's Bestfriend", I did a swap earlier at the end of summer called "Man's Bestfriend" with dogs on the ATCs.
I sure do dread driving in to work this morning in the heavy rain, its not fun to drive in with the folks who want to drive 80 mph on rain slick roads.

Ideas for new house!!!

I have been looking at alot of HGTV lately, trying to get ideas on how I want to decorate my new house. I saw a awesome show on last week (can't remember the name of it, but I think it was designing on a dime or something like that). Anyhoo they re-did a lady's kitchen and did in a retro style. I loved it. They used corals and torquoises in it and it look so cool! They also used one of my fave themes lately,,,Birds!!! So now I want to do my kitchen in the bird theme. I have found some really cute fabric for curtains. This is one of the designs.

I Love it. I have found a few more that I like but I keep coming back to this one. Still trying to figure out my colors. I am thinking a light coral on one wall. It will be the wall where I am going to have a L shaped bench for my table seating. Daniel has to build that one. I also like the tan in the fabric too, maybe for the rest of the walls. So,,,I do have a plan started for that room. Now for the rest of the house,,,I will have to keep watching more shows for more ideas. I am also buying alot of decorating magazines too.

My soon to be new house.

Yes, another long gap of time since I have posted. But between work and my newest adventure, I haven't had alot of time left for blogging. The house in the picture above is my parents current home. They just recently bought the house next door to them as they love the floor plan and it is all on one level. So,,,guess who is buying this house? Yep,,its me, and my hubby.
We have been helping my parents remodel the new house and they are really going to have a very pretty house when it is ready.
This best part of this is that I will be living next door to my bestfriend, my dear, sweet Mother.
We are both thrilled with this wonderful new developement.
The house above is perfect for us. It has a full finished basement and a hugh detached workshop for the hubby. Here are more pictures of the house.

Nice big covered deck on the side of the house. Its a great place to hang flower baskets as you can see by the ones Mom has hanging there.
This is the back of the house. It has a hugh backyard, and I see a swimming pool there one day.

This is the house that my parents bought. I am only showing this picture because I have taken alot of before pictures of the house and I am going to take alot of pictures after is has been beautifully remodeled. I am so excited and just had to share my news with my blogger friends.
I will be very busy the next few months so I may not get to post as much as I would like too. But I will try to be a little more frequent than what I have been lately.
The weather has still been very mild for October here in Tennessee. We have had a few storms but so far no frost yet.

Well its been another long gap of time since I have been here. Again, my excuse is after being on the computer all day long at work, just don't want to get near it when I get home. So I am either outside or in the Art room. The weather here has still been very warm for the first of October. And we are still in a drought here, rain is still few and far between.
But today was a excellent day for me! I took a personal day off from work and just enjoyed the day so much. I had to take care of a little business this morning and then I got to meet up with my girl, Mizz Rosie. Whew, it has been too long since we had seen each other! We met at the wonderful Cheesecake Factory and had us a long gabbing session and a delicous lunch! We had not seen each other in a few but it didn't feel like it as we just jive(old hippy word) so good together. She is so fun to be with and we have a fun time together! After lunch, we went over to the bookstore and bought us some great Magazines. Then walked around the mall for a few too. It was the best day I have had in a long time. Thanks Miz Rosa!!!
Now I will post a few pics of some Halloween ATCs I have made recently for some swaps. I have really enjoyed doing some great swaps in Swap-bot. I have recieved some awesome art recently too! They have weeded out the slackers and the artists who are in there now never flake on the swaps. I recieved some beautiful art from other Countries too, love that too!
